Project
This grassroots project in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, involved constructing a four-train hot briquette iron facility needed to supply material to the worldwide steel industry. The project included processing, energy, water, wastewater and natural gas facilities, as well as rail and roadway services. Orinoco Iron – which employs more than 5,000 workers at this site – is the largest producer of hot briquette iron in the Americas.

Buric’s consultants provided multiple claims analyses from vendors and contractors, including CPM schedule analysis, loss of productivity analysis and impact cost analysis. Buric worked closely with Orinoco/BHP to develop settlement strategies and to successfully negotiate resolutions to claims.
