Project
The project is a new state-of-the-art learning facility of approximately 122,000 square feet and is
a state-of-the-art learning facility for more than 700 students.
The building is comprised of several wings containing 10 major areas
including classrooms, media centers, library, cafeteria/kitchen, laboratories,
auditorium, gymnasium, locker rooms and parking areas.
Services
Buric was retained to provide an expert opinion and testimony
on the multi-million dollar construction claims submitted by various prime
contractors. The claims asserted unanticipated subsurface conditions,
plan and design errors, wrongful withholding of funds, coordination issues,
extra work, delays and losses in labor productivity. Services provided
included review of project documents, analysis of impact and delay, determination
of liability and entitlement, substantiation of damages, expert report
and testimony in trial. Additional analysis was performed in segregating
claimed issues between the responsible parties, including the owner, architect,
construction manager and/or prime contractors.
