Terra Nova FPSO

Client: Petro-Canada
Location: St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada

Project
The Terra Nova Project was the design and construction of a floating production, storage and offloading (“FPSO”) vessel used in the petroleum industry. The project delivery system used modular construction methods. The engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, mechanical completion and commissioning work were accomplished simultaneously at various sites under various contracts. The modules and vessel were transported to the final assembly and commissioning site in Bull Arm, Newfoundland, Canada. During the construction of the facility, various systems and components became damaged and caused the start up to be delayed. The owner made claim for the damage and delay under its insurance policy.

Services
Buric was retained to be part of the delayed start up preparation and adjustment team (“DSU Team”). The DSU Team also included representatives from the owner and the loss adjuster. Buric’s services included schedule impact analysis and productivity impact analysis in an interactive work environment with the other parties in the DSU Team.
